JOB DESCRIPTION - MECHANICAL ERECTION ENGINEER (MEE-01)

 

Position: Mechanical Erection Engineer

 

Location: Mouda-Nagpur

 

No. of Posts: 2 No.

 

Degree in Mechanical with minimum 6-7 years of experience OR Diploma in Mechanical with over 10-12 years of experience in Construction field (power plants) / LSTK power projects in India. Especially in site execution as key role for power plants with reputed EPC contractors.

 

He will report to Mechanical Site In charge

 

The Construction Engineer manages/supervises all operational aspects of erection.

 

?Knowledge of sequential erection Power plant from civil foundation to mechanical power plant Structures, Piping and Equipment?s like Fan, Pump, tanks, conveyor, ball mill, Cold/wet Stack, Material Handling System and auxiliary equipment.

?Should be conversant on scope study and contract document related to project.

?Should be able to read P&ID, plant layout, erection drawings, Isometric drawings.

?Organizes, coordinates and directs the erection activities in accordance with Project schedules.

?Allocates resources as necessary, Supervises erection Business Partners daily execution.

?Supervises safety and environmental control during erection in close coordination with the Safety Manager.

?Ensures quality control procedures are properly applied.

?Maintains good relations between Client and Business Partners.

?Ensures close contact with other site departments & engineering (HO) to ensure proper flow of engineering documentation, materials and equipment to support operations effort.

?Has proper understanding of progress measurement and cost control procedures and that they fulfil their responsibilities in relation to these procedures

 

 

The Erection Engineer assists the construction Manager in supervising all operational aspects of erection.

 

?Sees that Business Partners achieve planned progress in the construction area in conformity with safety and quality requirements.

?Ensures prompt corrective measures are established and implemented for problems and reports on problems to the Mechanical Site In charge.

?Inputs into planning and scheduling as required, both site-wide and for the Business Partners working in the construction area.

?Inputs as required into Business Partner administration.

?Authorized to propose Change Orders of Business Partners.

?Utilizes the services of Supervisors for the fulfilment of his responsibilities.

?Monitors Business Partners safety /environmental control and quality control.

?Checks manpower levels and construction equipment/tool availability of Business Partners.

?Advises Business Partners on construction methods with particular emphasis on compliance with safe working procedures.

?Interfaces with other site departments, particularly project controls, material control and engineering, to maintain proper support for and control of Business Partners.

?Handled installation of equipment?s, pump, piping, tanks & steel structural erection for power projects, FGD installation would be added advantage.

 

 

Soft Skills:

?Should be able to read & write in English and also to speak English and Hindi.

?Coordination /communication with internal & external agencies during Execution of project.

?Complete relevant documentation including site reports, daily reports, Quality records and other relevant documentation and record keeping.

?Establish all check points and validate as per the system requirement.

?Follow applicable codes, standards and safety regulations during commissioning.

?Should be able to take good decisions at the right time.

?Conduct meeting with Business Partners in order to clarify and resolve any potential misunderstandings early on.

?Establish the strong working relationship with wide range of people.
