Position Purpose

 Buyer should be responsible for procurement of Materials & Equipment from domestic as well as international sources for various EPC Project related to Power Industry. He will be responsible from issuing RFQ to complete delivery of material and payment to the Supplier.

Dimensions

Principal Accountabilities

1)      Issuing RFQ for materials/ Equipment and obtaining RFQ

2)      Negotiating price and terms with vendors and placement of PO

3)      Expediting for timely delivery of materials

4)      Certification and processing of Invoices for timely payment to vendors

5)      Co-ordination with other stakeholders for the Project

6)      Preparing reports for the management

Nature & Scope

• Vendor Sourcing, Evaluation and Development
• Issuing Request for Quotations based on Japan HQ request or MHPS-IND own EPC projects
• Coordination with engineering and other teams and participate in techno-commercial discussions with vendors
• Negotiation of commercial terms and conditions with vendors and evaluation of offers.
• Placement of Purchase Order/ Contracts
• Post Order follow-up for documents drawings, bank guarantees and expedite the materials/ equipment for timely delivery of materials as per contract terms.
• Coordination with Engineering QMS and Project teams and participate in project review meetings
• Overall responsible for timely execution of PO
• Coordination with MHPS-J offices for the RFQ & PO for overseas projects
• Arranging shipping documents and coordination for shipping and logistics
• Make expediting visits to vendors shops/ sub-vendor shops
• Checking & verifying supplier invoices and ensuring timely payment to vendors
• Preparation of Monthly reports for presentation to Management

Person Profile

Educational Qualification

Engineering Graduate -Electrical/I&C.

Additional Qualifications - MBA (Operations/ Supply chain Management)/ Graduate with post graduate diploma in Materials Management/ Supply Chain Management.

Experience 

Engineering Graduate in Mechanical/ Production/ Electrical/ I&C 

Experience should be in EPC/ Project/ Manufacturing Industry preferably related to Power Plants

Year of experience: 10 Years

Relevant experience with subcontractors/agencies for EPC contract.
